Beat 'em like a Drum...

There is one rivalry here--Adamsville...O'Neal and the boys played the best game of their season....and yes we spanked 'em ( and so did my nephew Demetri and the 7th grade team)---they had been talking smack all week about how we couldn't beat them---The Boys were fired up...and left it all on the field...

When life knocks you down, try to land on your back. Because if you can look up, you can get up. Let your reason get you back up.

Powerful Quote from a great movie --"The Patriot"

I have long feared that my sins would return to visit me, and the cost would be more than I could bear.

Benjamin Martin

Good Stuff

Call on God
"In the day of my trouble I will call upon thee: for thou wilt answer me."
Psalm 86:7
COMMENTS: I am never alone. I never have reason to despair. I do not have to depend entirely on my own devices. God is right here with me. I only have to speak and He hears me. I only have to whisper and He is hearing what I say.
God is my strength. He is my comforter. He is my wisdom. He is my daddy. He is always by my side. If I am feeling sad or alone I just have to rest in His unconditional love for me. I can rest in His arms and know that I am not alone. He cares about every single thing in my life. Like I said, He is my daddy.
He wants to do the same for you. Do I need to say any more?

Celebrating My Birthday one day early --and definitely showing my age...

Do you remember the 21st night of september?
Love was changing the minds of pretenders
While chasing the clouds away
Our hearts were ringing
In the key that our souls were singing.
As we danced in the night,
Remember how the stars stole the night away

Ba de ya - say do you remember
Ba de ya - dancing in september
Ba de ya - never was a cloudy day

My thoughts are with you
Holding hands with your heart to see you
Only blue talk and love,
Remember how we knew love was here to stay
Now december found the love that we shared in september.
Only blue talk and love,
Remember the true love we share today

Ba de ya - say do you remember
Ba de ya - dancing in september
Ba de ya - never was a cloudy day
Ba de ya - say do you remember
Ba de ya - dancing in september
Ba de ya - golden dreams were shiny days

Virgin Gordo . . .

Life sometimes hits a peaceful spot--where things are exactly like my trip last year to the British Virgin Islands---to quote our guide, Pedro..."No Worries". I sat on the deck of the sailboat at night and looked up at the stars and was absolutely amazed...from horizon to horizon...stars as bright at street lights...and just talked to God...and you know what ...He listens...and I did too...
These are a couple of about 200 great pics from the trip---

Definition of Faith

“When you have come to the edge of all light that you know and are about to drop off into the darkness of the unknown, Faith is knowing one of two things will happen: There will be something solid to stand on or you will be taught to fly”
Patrick Overton

From Dad . . .

Help from the Word
I was having a hard time dealing with a problem. My Merry Heart was becoming discouraged. Then I remembered this scripture: 1st Thessalonians: 5:18 In every thing give thanks: for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus concerning you
If I'm in the will of God like I'm supposed to be, then everything that happens to me is for His Divine purpose. The scripture seems to have healed me.
I shall not forget it. I made copies and have them stuck on my puter, TV. fridge, and a wall or two.

I'm even thankful for that little old dog that barks at Margie and I when we walk every morning. It must be for a purpose.

Romans 8:28 And we know that all things work together for good to them that love God,
to them who are the called according to his purpose.

I know that I love God. I believe Him when he says He's working things out for my ultimate good.

May this will help some of you Christians. If you aren't serving Him you are automatically out his will. It is not his will that any should perish.
2nd Peter 3:9 The Lord is not slack concerning his promise, as some men count slackness; but is longsuffering to us-ward, not willing that any should perish, but that all should come to repentance.

No Matter What Happens

"And the rain descended, and the floods came, and the winds blew, and beat upon that house; and it fell not: for it was founded upon a rock."Matthew 7:25
No matter how hard the rain (pain, disappointments, frustrations, etc.) descends...no matter how high the floods (disaster, distress, unbearable burdens, devastating illness, etc.) rise... no matter how hard the winds (job loss, wayward children, financial problems, etc.) blow... if you are standing on the Rock (have total faith in God) then you will barely be moved. You may dip and sway a bit, but you will still remain standing.
God knows what we are going through and He is capable of handling everything. He can make it go away altogether, He can use it for His purposes, or He can carry us through. We just have to allow Him to have His way and know that He is right by our side.
How can we get to the point of trusting Him that completely? We have to know Him. We have to experience Him on a day-to-day basis in our good times. We have to allow Him to be a part of our hearts and minds so that, when rough times come, we don't start "looking for Him". If we don't have that personal relationship with Him then we are likely to thrash about in our flesh trying to solve our problems instead of just turning to Him for what to do.
He is our Rock. He cannot be moved. No matter how bad of a trial we are experiencing, no matter how out of control the world seems, NO MATTER WHAT... He is the Solid Rock. He is available and willing to be our Rock. Why would we choose anything else? I know that my feet are on the Rock. Even when it is too dark to see, even when the flood waters are up to my knees, even when my legs are numb... I know, that I know, that I know the Rock is still under my feet.
I encourage you to take hold of that reality and become a part of that Rock. You can stand tall and strong in the midst of disaster. It is truly amazing to feel that power, peace, joy, and wisdom bubbling up through you when everyone else is crumbling to the ground and falling apart.
